Global Depreciation

To calculate the depreciation values for all assets in the application, use the Calculate Depreciation function. With this feature, calculate the depreciation for all depreciation classes at once or calculate depreciation for all assets of a specific depreciation class. This feature saves time when calculating asset deprecation and it also ensures accuracy when evaluating asset worth.

Calculating Depreciation for All Classes

To calculate depreciation for all classes except for those assigned to the Manual method, please refer to the steps below:

  1. Select Assets > Depreciation Classes from the navigation pane.
  2. The Depreciation Classes page appears.

  1. To calculate asset depreciation for all classes, select the Calculate Depreciation for All Classes button found along the top of the page.

  1. A prompt appears, “Calculate depreciation for all classes?”
    1. To close the prompt and calculate the depreciation for all classes, select OK. A status message appears onscreen: Please wait... while depreciation is being calculated. When depreciation is calculated, a message appears: Depreciation calculated. Click OK to close the prompt. You are returned to the Depreciation Classes page. Depreciation has been calculated for all assets EXCEPT for those with the Manual depreciation method.
    2. To close the prompt and cancel calculating depreciation for all classes, select Cancel. You are returned to the Depreciation Classes page; depreciation has not been calculated.

Calculating Depreciation for a Specific Depreciation Class

To calculate the depreciation for a specific depreciation class, please refer to the steps that follow.

  1. Select Assets > Depreciation Classes from the navigation pane.
  1. The Depreciation Classes page appears.
  2. To calculate depreciation for all assets assigned to a specific depreciation class, locate the class in the list of depreciation classes found in the page’s grid.
  3. Press the Calculate button for this depreciation class.

  1. A prompt appears: Calculate depreciation for this class?
  2. Press OK to close the form and calculate depreciation for assets assigned to this depreciation class only. A status message, Please wait... appears onscreen to notify you that depreciation is being calculated for this class. When the depreciation is finished being calculated for this class, a message prompt appears: Depreciation calculated. Click OK to close the prompt and return to the Depreciation Classes page.
